Development and Change

  • Implementation of a new strategy to realign a professional services company around national customer groupings rather than state based service delivery.  This included the implementation of a change management and communications plan for staff, contractors and customers; restructuring the organisation that made some positions redundant and recruitment and training of new management on new budgeting and financial responsibilities, resource selection and allocation, and business development skills;
  • Major reengineering of human resource and training processes to improve outcomes in terms of staff recruitment, competence selection, management and retention across the organisation.
  • Successful establishment of a business development and consultancy divisions within technical and quasi-government organisation that have secured major research, policy development and capacity building projects and launched new services and products.
  • Expansion of the existing training services through new course development and delivery channels including online learning and licensing arrangements with tertiary education institutions.
  • Persuading industry and stakeholders to support a new business model to fund the on-going provision of standards development services.  Contracts signed and delivered to clients ranging from local government, timber industry, plumbing and piping products, steel products, cement and concrete, structural design industry, government departments and fire protection.
  • Various business development activities including the establishment of new lines of business in greenhouse gas validation, plantation forestry management and partnership contracts for delivering services in Chile, India and the Middle East.  Major contracts for multi-year consultancy projects in the Middle East.
  • Various asset development projects for energy, defence and public infrastructure clients.
