Strategy and Policy

GED Advisory has a background in strategic management.  Past activities include:

  • Development of implementation of strategic planning for a membership-based association with a focus in seven key areas: people excellence; technical excellence; flexible service delivery; superior value and customer service; networking well recognised; growth and working in the public interest.
  • Establishment of a new subsidiary company, including the management of legal and financial arrangements, and on-going mentoring to the new General Manager and independent Board on matters related to governance, strategic direction, budgeting and fee setting.
  • Development of strategic and master plans for local government covering community and physical infrastructure development, natural resource management and long term financial planning.
  • Review and development of regulatory systems and frameworks in the areas of building control, environmental management, climate change, consumer safety and food safety.
  • Undertaking a competitive analysis for a local chamber of commerce to maintain regional and local customer loyalty in the face of peripheral retail shopping developments.
  • Completion of sensitive international agreements and memoranda of understanding to clarify responsibilities of parties, set joint priorities and demonstrate active cooperation between entities.  These negotiations often started in a climate of suspicion and mistrust and through personal communication and a willingness to take into account concerns from other parties these agreements were satisfactorily completed.
  • Implementation of a methodology and committee structure to identify, coordinate and carry out stakeholder and customer relations activities which resulted in greater levels of influence and organisational recognition.
